Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani – Creamy Tomato Chicken)

This restaurant classic is tender chicken in a silky tomato-butter sauce—rich, mildly spiced, and totally comforting.

Ingredients (Serves 4 | Prep: 15 min + marinate | Cook: 30 min)
1 lb chicken thighs, cubed
½ cup yogurt
2 Tbsp ghee
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1-inch ginger
1 cup tomato puree
1 tsp each: garam masala, cumin, coriander
½ tsp chili powder
½ cup cream or coconut milk
Salt
Instructions
Marinate chicken in yogurt + half spices 30 min.
Sauté onion, garlic, ginger in ghee.
Add tomato and remaining spices; cook soft.
Stir in cream and chicken; simmer 20 min.
Pro Tips
Finish with fresh cilantro.
