Chana Masala (Hearty Chickpea Curry)

This spiced chickpea curry is cozy, filling, and comes together fast—my go-to for weeknights when I want big flavor without fuss.


Ingredients (Serves 4 | Prep: 10 min | Cook: 25 min)

  • 2 cups canned chickpeas, drained & rinsed

  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil or ghee

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1-inch ginger, grated

  • 2 tomatoes, chopped

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • ½ tsp chili powder

  • Salt to taste

  • ½ cup water

  • Fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Heat oil; add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.

  2. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until golden.

  3. Stir in tomatoes and spices; cook until soft.

  4. Add chickpeas and water; simmer 15 min.

  5. Garnish with cilantro.


Pro Tips

  • Squeeze lemon at the end for brightness.
