Tender, smoky pork straight from the imu (underground oven)—luau essential that's surprisingly easy at home.

Ingredients (Serves 8 | Prep: 5 min | Cook: 8–10 hrs)
3–4 lbs pork shoulder/butt
1 ½ Tbsp Hawaiian sea salt (or kosher)
1 Tbsp liquid smoke
Banana leaves (optional)
Instructions
Rub pork with salt and liquid smoke.
Wrap in banana leaves if using.
Slow cook on low 8–10 hrs.
Shred with forks—juices mix in.
