Mexican Chapulines (Seasoned Fried Grasshoppers)

Crunchy, tangy Oaxacan street snack—grasshoppers seasoned with lime and chili. Surprisingly addictive and protein-packed!

Ingredients (Serves 4 as snack | Prep: 5 min | Cook: 10 min)
1 cup cleaned chapulines (grasshoppers, from specialty markets)
1 Tbsp coconut oil or ghee
2 limes, juiced
Chili powder or tajín
Garlic powder, salt
Instructions
Heat oil in pan.
Add chapulines; stir-fry 5–8 min until crisp.
Remove from heat; toss with lime juice and spices.
Pro Tips
Start small if new—they taste like crispy shrimp!
